This January, the organisation Stray Rescue of St. Louis in the USA was alerted to a dog that had been abandoned. The poor animal was tied up outside a deserted house and left to survive in the freezing temperatures.
Rescuers set off immediately to try and save him. Tracks on the ground led the team to a male dog, who was indeed dragging a chain, but that wasn't the only surprise.
A shocking discovery
A few feet away, they found a female dog who appeared to be unwell. After being taken to the shelter, the two dogs were immediately warmed up and given medical care.
Looking for a family
The dogs, named Fannar and Eira, are now waiting to find a new home.
Their story has since touched many people on social media, where the rescue video was quickly shared, sparking an emotional response and messages of support from users.
