Hopeless and starving: three kittens' miraculous journey

By Ludivine Mazzotti Author

The Best Friends Felines rescue centre in Brisbane, Australia, took in three young cats who were in desperate need of help.

The kittens were emaciated and covered in fleas. They had very little fur and looked around suspiciously with wide, dilated eyes.

A welcoming foster home

Rescuers made sure the trio went to a foster home, where they would have plenty of food and endless love.

Eden, the smallest of the litter, would always hide behind her siblings for comfort, as she was terrified of people.

On the day she was rescued, she weighed just 1.2 pounds (550g), the typical weight of a five-week-old kitten, yet she was around six months old...

A slow but steady recovery

After a week in foster care, the litter had made great progress. They were eating well and their fur had started to grow back.

However, while Eden's siblings, Regia and Rain, gradually began to thrive, Eden remained withdrawn.

As the weeks went by, Eden realised she was safe in her foster home and slowly began to trust her rescuers.

The little cat steadily gained weight and became very affectionate.

Eden's foster family knows that with plenty of patience and care, she will make a full recovery and be ready to join her forever family!
