The bag was tied shut and had been abandoned on the grass.
Trusting his instincts, the man opened it and made a heartbreaking discovery: five tiny kittens were struggling inside.
A heartbreaking discovery
He called the BACH Project PH rescue centre to report what he had found. Rescuers arrived on the scene as quickly as they could. They were heartbroken when they saw the kittens. The little animals were barely a week old and extremely fragile. They were freezing cold and dehydrated, and the poor things needed help urgently.
Fortunately, the man's call came just in time. The kittens are now warm and safe. They are being bottle-fed, receiving vitamins, and are being carefully watched over by the rescue team.
An overwhelmed rescue
However, these five weren't the only kittens the centre rescued around that time. In fact, over the next 24 hours, the team was called out to save another nine kittens in need. This brought the total to 14 tiny creatures needing to be fed and cared for.
The rescuers are currently stretched to their limits. Fortunately, they have found two different foster families to care for the kittens. We wish them all the best and hope they make a swift recovery from their terrible ordeal.
