Rescued stray cat’s big surprise for her new foster family

Sometimes, a chance encounter on a street corner can change everything. In Nevada, USA, a family grew concerned about a stray cat they had spotted. Her shape made it clear that she was heavily pregnant and about to give birth. Without their intervention, this mother-to-be and her kittens would have been left to fend for themselves against the dangers of the street.

Recently, a family spotted a cat wandering in their neighbourhood. As reported by the website LoveMeow, the cat was alone but looked as though she was about to give birth.

The family knew they couldn't leave the mother-to-be on the streets, so they contacted an organisation that could help her.

That's when the local rescue organisation, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions in Nevada, USA, stepped in to take her in.

A safe place to give birth

The cat was taken in by Ellen, an experienced volunteer. Although nervous at first, the expectant mother soon began to relax.

Shortly after she arrived, the little cat gave birth to her babies. The kittens were all in perfect health.

A devoted mother

"Lovey Dovey is an excellent mum. She's settling in well, resting and relaxing while her babies nurse and sleep like champions," said her foster family.

A real bond of trust has formed between the new mother and Ellen. Every day, Lovey Dovey greets Ellen with a long, happy stretch, followed by the most adorable request for cuddles.
