It was a stormy morning, and the rescuer was hurrying to get inside and out of the rain.
Just in time
She stopped in her tracks when she spotted an abandoned cage on one of the roads leading to the shelter. It wasn't the main road, so if it hadn't been for her, the cage might not have been found so easily.
Inside were seven terrified puppies, left all alone in the pouring rain. They were crammed so tightly into the small cage that they could barely move. The poor little things were soaked through, freezing cold, and completely disoriented.
Affectionate puppies
The poor puppies had been left with no food or water. Rescuers quickly brought them into the warmth and safety of the shelter, where the RSPCA staff washed, fed, and rehydrated them. As the little ones were found during a storm, they were aptly named after storms: Bram, Dave, Eddie, Marty, Oscar, Patrick, and Wubbo.
The rescuers are now appealing for information about the person who abandoned the puppies. In the meantime, we wish these little pups all the best as they recover in their warm new shelter, enjoying plenty of cuddles from their rescuers while they wait to find their forever homes.
