Neglected pups adopted by the very police officers who rescued them

Police officers decided not to abandon these three neglected puppies.

Over in the US, police officers from the Watertown Police Department (WPD) in New York State were called out to rescue three severely neglected dogs.

As reported by People magazine, the officers were deeply moved by the rescue. "These cases are never easy," the WPD shared. "But thanks to the teamwork of our officers, Jefferson County Dog Control, and our community, these puppies have been given a second chance."

Finding their forever homes

Named Wade, One, and Roman, the dogs quickly found loving homes with three of the department's officers.

A truly happy ending

In a social media post, the police department also shared a photo of a fourth puppy named Keira, who was rescued as part of the same neglect investigation.

Just like the others, she had no trouble finding a loving family and is now living her best life.

The WPD said they were delighted to share a "truly happy ending".
