Endless tears
Faced with her beloved dog's deteriorating quality of life, Alabama made the difficult decision to have him put to sleep. Like many people who lose a pet, she cried a great deal in the days that followed.
Shortly afterwards, the young woman began to feel a persistent discomfort in her left eye. At first, she thought it was a speck of dust and tried to remove it. But when she looked in the mirror, she was shocked to discover a strange lump on her eyeball. Worried, she quickly went to see an ophthalmologist.
Persistent cysts
The specialist diagnosed a conjunctival cyst, likely caused by her frequently rubbing her eye while crying over Goober's death. Alabama had to have surgery under local anaesthetic for the specialist to remove the first cyst with a needle.
Upon further examination, he discovered two more cysts that also required removal. Although Alabama felt no pain thanks to the anaesthetic, she found the experience particularly unnerving.
Unfortunately, a few days later, one of the cysts reappeared. For now, the young woman has decided to wait before having another procedure, while using eye drops to protect her eye and reduce the risk of infection.
