In the United States, a dog found herself on a kill list after being abandoned. With only hours to spare, her life was hanging by a thread.

Stella, a Weimaraner cross, was found wandering in December 2025. As reported by Newsweek, she was initially taken to a local pound in the hope that her owner would come forward.

Sadly, no one came to claim her. As the days went by, the poor dog was put on the euthanasia list. She was scheduled to be put to sleep on 16th December.

Running out of time

Fortunately, Kristina and her team at Northern California Weimaraner Rescue stepped in to save her life.

"The shelter contacted us on 14th December, and within a few hours, we were able to arrange for one of our volunteers to pick her up," she said.

A new beginning

Stella was temporarily placed with a foster family in California, USA. This gave the dog, who had never lived in a house before, a chance to get used to her new surroundings.

To help her find a family quickly, the Northern California Weimaraner Rescue recorded an introductory video of her.

For now, the sweet dog has not yet found her forever home, but many people have already shown their support in the comments.
