This cat must have had the fright of his life. In Italy, a ginger cat named Anacleto had a narrow escape from a washing machine. The little feline had fallen asleep inside the machine at his home in the town of Induno Olona, in the north of the country.
A terrifying discovery
His owner, who was busy getting ready for Christmas, hadn't noticed her cat was in the washing machine. When she spotted his tail in the drum, she immediately stopped the cycle. Luckily, it was on a low-temperature setting.
Emergency treatment at home
A vet was called out for an emergency. He told the daily newspaper La Repubblica: "Taking him out of the machine and putting him in the car to get to the clinic would have been dangerous under the circumstances. So we had to improvise. We warmed him up by placing plastic bottles filled with hot water next to him. I also gave him a cortisone shot and some antibiotics, as his paws were covered in blood. He probably injured himself while desperately trying to scratch his way out of the machine."
Luckily, Anacleto's condition improved in the final days of the year.
