Boomer, a seven-year-old Samoyed who once loved nothing more than playing in the snow, has suddenly been forced to stay away from the snowflakes due to some heartbreaking circumstances.

Boomer is one of those dogs who loves spending every moment outside, even enjoying his breakfast on a bed of fresh snow. But a viral Instagram clip posted on Tuesday by @life.with.a.landcloud shows the poor dog shivering, unable to fully enjoy his favourite season.

The post's author explains that last winter, Boomer was without his thick, protective coat after vets had to shave him for several procedures. Since then, he has felt the cold constantly, despite his love for the snow and the freezing temperatures he once adored.

The video's caption reads: ”I bet a million dollars you've never seen a Samoyed shiver. This is the saddest but cutest thing you'll ever see. He just wanted to stay inside, like us fragile humans.”

A difficult diagnosis

His owner, Charishma, from Oregon in the US, explains that Boomer has been rushed to the vet several times since September 2024 and has undergone numerous tests. He also had surgery to remove a cancerous tumour.

Making this winter his best ever

”Because he didn't have his thick undercoat last winter, his body would get cold much faster and he would shiver. We're hoping that with his coat grown back this winter, he'll be able to enjoy the snow again,” explains Charishma. She adds: ”Sadly, Boomer was diagnosed with terminal cancer last August, but he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down or changes in his behaviour. We're hoping to make this winter the best of his life!”

The video has since gone viral on social media, racking up over 525,000 views and 33,000 likes to date.
