It’s hard not to fall for King's charms. As reported by The Dodo, the stray dog was first taken in by LaBelle Animal Services in Florida. Unfortunately, as the shelter was full to capacity, the Patty Baker Humane Society in Naples stepped in to take over his care.
Dressed for success
To help King find a family quickly, the volunteers and staff decided to dress him in a bandana printed with the words “Adopt Me”. To complete his charming look, they even perched a little cowboy hat on his head.
The big dog was so excited at the thought of meeting his potential new family. But sadly, after hours of waiting, no one turned up.
Hopes dashed
Struggling with the loneliness of kennel life, the dog was desperate for a family. Potential adopters had expressed interest, but in the end, they never came. “King is one of those dogs that everyone falls in love with when they meet him, and yet he’s still waiting for his forever home,” lamented Patrizia Vila. “As much as we do everything we can to brighten his days, what King really needs is a family of his own.”
