Audray went to the park entrance to meet the woman who had spotted them.
It then took her 15 minutes to trek through the woods to where they'd been seen.
They're terrified
The rescuer finally managed to spot them: two balls of fur hidden in the undergrowth, absolutely terrified. The poor pups were trembling with fear. Audray spent an hour speaking softly to the dogs, later named Chewbacca and Ewok. She tried to slowly approach where they were huddled together, without frightening them.
The dogs eventually accepted the food Audray offered them. The rescuer saw an opportunity and quickly seized it to get closer to the pups. With her colleague, they were able to pick up the dogs.
A well-deserved grooming
Once the dogs were safe in their rescuers' arms, they were surprisingly calm. The poor things were covered in matted fur and far too thin. Audray took them straight to the groomer, where Chewbacca and Ewok got a much-needed trim.
After that, they had a completely new look! The poor pups wouldn't have survived the night if the rescuers hadn't acted quickly. Fortunately, their abandonment is behind them and the two dogs now live together in their forever home.
