On 3rd January, the rescue team shared the sad story of a dog named Sam.
Sam first arrived at the shelter in January 2023 and was adopted just a month later.
A sad return
Unfortunately, poor Sam is now back at the shelter, a year after he was adopted. The reason his family gave? "They could no longer care for him". In the video below, you can see Sam arriving back at the shelter one year after he left.
In the first few clips, the dog seems happy to see his former carers and the friends he made at the shelter. He even wags his tail happily! However, the footage that follows is utterly heartbreaking...
The heartbreaking realisation
Sam soon understands that he isn't going home... he's back in his kennel. He can be seen curled up on his little bed behind the bars. His behaviour brought animal lovers on TikTok to tears. One user commented: "What a sweetheart! He deserves someone who will love him and never give up on him". Another person offered words of encouragement: "Sam, your perfect family will come for you."
Fortunately, there's some good news! Sam didn't stay at the shelter for long. He's having a wonderful time with his new family and his adoption is going perfectly. The rescuers are delighted that the sweet dog has finally been given a second chance in a loving, warm home, and so are we!
