There is nothing worse than seeing your child suffer. When Luca and Heidi discovered their son Mattia had a heart defect, their world fell apart.
Fortunately, their paths crossed with the right people about four years ago. And as fate would have it, miracles happened.
A double success
Little Mattia, who was four years old at the time, was taken to Evelina London Children’s Hospital to be operated on by Dr Caner Salih, a renowned cardiac surgeon. The operation was a success, much to the relief of the little boy's parents, who couldn't thank the surgeon enough.
Shortly after Mattia's operation in 2019, Luca and Heidi learned that the doctor's own dog was also ill and suffering from a heart condition.
A twist of fate
Without hesitation, the couple – who are both vets – offered to take care of the surgeon's dog, Büdu. They started him on a course of treatment, and today, the pooch is doing much better.
What a lovely twist of fate.
