It isn't uncommon for cats to spend their time looking out of windows, particularly if they live indoors.
But on this occasion something seemed different to cat owner and TikTok user @soundboundsaga, and he decided to investigate.
Guarding her house from unwanted visitors
"What's wrong?", he can be heard asking his black cat as she peers through the glass into the garden.
The cat responds with a meow, as if she's trying to explain what she can see.
Pulling back the curtain, it quickly becomes clear the clever cat knew exactly what she was doing.
On the other side of the glass is a baby bobcat, peering into the house and boldly staring at Shadow.
"Yeah, that's different!", exclaims her surprised owner.
The baby bobcat curiously watches the cat, before running off to join his mother.
The mini panther
The clip instantly went viral, with over 5.8 million views in under a week.
"Baby bobcat says, mom look at this mini panther", joked a viewer.
"My cat came and yelled at me loudly while I was on my computer one time. I followed him and found a family of raccoons in our kitchen helping themselves to his food. He was greatly concerned!", explained another.
