Having grown up in the pound, Pineapple was fearful and shy around people.
Hiding in the shadows, pound workers deemed him untouchable. The years went by and every day looked the same for the Mioritic Shepherd cross, who had no chance of adoption in his home country of Romania.
A new haircut and a new beginning
Thankfully, volunteers of Safe Rescue regularly visit the pound, rescuing as many dogs as possible and bringing them to safety in the UK.
Shocked by Pineapple's matted fur, they decided the least they could do was to make him more comfortable. They carefully cut away heavy pieces of hair, hoping at the very least it would help him to see.
It wasn't until they had finished his haircut, that the team realised what a sweet, gentle boy Pineapple was.
They arranged for him to travel as quickly as possible, placing him in a foster home in the UK.
Pineapple's true personality
With years of solitude behind him, Pineapple has taken to his foster home better than anyone expected. A gentle giant with a funny personality, this lovely boy is determined to make up for lost time.
He loves nothing more than a slow, sniffy walk, followed by the longest nap on a comfy bed.
"He was definitely absent the day God was handing brains out, but he's incredibly sweet and funny and he deserves an amazing home", joked Safe Rescue.
