While heading to a friend’s house, Nathan found a black cat lying dead on the street.
Devastated, he recognised the cat as his beloved Loki, noting familiar features like missing fur, a scar on the ear and a kink in the tail.
Farewell for Loki
Heartbroken, an emotional Nathan brought the cat home and buried it in his garden, mourning the loss of his loyal companion.
However, the very next morning, as he was recounting the incident to his father, he heard a familiar meow. To his astonishment, Loki appeared before him, very much alive.
Incredible surprise
Nathan quickly realised the cat he buried was not his own but another black cat that closely resembled Loki.
He now hopes to track down and alert the original owner about their lost pet. Reflecting on the experience, Nathan said, “Even though it wasn’t my cat, I’m glad I was able to give it a dignified farewell.”
Nathan remains grateful to have Loki back but is reconsidering allowing his cat to roam freely outdoors, given the emotional toll of this close call.
RIP, black cat.
