Organised by the association "FAPF," the event was meant to honour Csoki, a beloved resident dog who had spent his entire life at the shelter without finding a home.
The aim was to ensure that none of the remaining dogs would meet a similar fate.
Chance to bond with shelter dogs
The plan was simple: 11 dogs were showcased, and volunteers were ready to guide potential adopters on walks and allow them to bond with the dogs. However, not a single visitor arrived.
Instead of wasting the day, the volunteers decided to shift focus. They paired up with the dogs and set off on an unexpected group outing.
Unique experience for everyone
All 40 shelter dogs enjoyed walks outdoors in the fresh air and even splashing in water for two hours, experiencing a rare taste of freedom beyond the shelter's confines.
The touching story amassed over 40,000 views on TikTok and hundreds of supportive comments.
While no dogs were adopted, the shelter hopes the viral post will raise awareness for dogs left behind in shelters and remind people of the joy these animals can bring to a home.
