Local firefighters were called to the Hartshill site after a Severn Trent worker spotted the cat, who had fallen 10 feet into the tank.
Firefighters descended into the tank to bring the frightened cat to safety, after which he was taken to the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre.
Infected tail
Once he’d arrived, it was soon discovered that Trent had an infected tail, which, unfortunately, had to be amputated.
The procedure was successful, and Trent has since recovered fully. Though his original owner couldn’t be located, the RSPCA arranged a new home for him, expressing relief that he had been spotted and rescued in time.
Happy ending
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service shared their joy at the news, saying, “We are so pleased to hear that Trent has found a new home and is doing well.”
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of local fire crews and the RSPCA, Trent is now safe, healthy, and ready to settle into his new life.
