Think cats aren't affectionate and don't care when their owners come home? You'll think again after watching this video.

A heartwarming clip on TikTok shows Shadow, a black cat, eagerly awaiting her owners' return while perched on a windowsill.

As soon as she spots them pulling into the driveway, Shadow springs into action.

Welcome home!

She lets out a few excited meows, double-checks through the window, and then bolts downstairs to the front door.

The excited feline continues meowing as she waits for them to come inside.

Shadow’s enthusiastic greetings aren’t rare. She’s known for regularly running to the door to meet her owners, even if only one has been out.

Affection feline

Viewers on TikTok loved the display of affection, with one user joking, “Mom’s home! Mom’s home!”

While cats are often seen as more independent, this behaviour suggests that some cats form strong bonds with their owners and show affection through these greetings.

Though some cats may also greet their owners expecting food or attention, Shadow’s excitement convinced viewers that cats also show love.
