At 9 am., employees arriving at the gate discovered a small black cat abandoned in a transport box.
The box had been left outside the shelter in heavy rain, with little regard for the animal's well-being.
Soaked and confused
The cat, named Lilla, was found soaked and confused, crouched at the bottom of the box. Alongside her was a small amount of food that had turned to mush due to the rain, leaving her fur matted and wet.
There were no details about her background aside from her name.
Heartless actions
Frustrated and understandably angry by the heartless abandonment, the shelter staff shared a video of the incident on Facebook to raise awareness of the cruelty involved.
They stressed the need for responsible pet ownership and urged the public to consider the impact of such actions on innocent animals.
Lilla is now safe and recovering, and the shelter hopes she will soon find a loving home where she will be treated with the care she deserves.
