On Monday the 16th of September, a kind samaritan made a shocking discovery.
A tabby tomcat had been abandoned near a supermarket in Jeumont, France, with a series of information written in marker pen on the top of the box. .
A heartbreaking find
In addition to the cat's name, his original owners wrote, "I am cut", likely referring to the fact that he was neutered. No other details were given about his age, health or personality. He was just left there all alone.
Thankfully, rescue association Refuge Édile Lacroix de Maubeuge were able to take him in, offering a safe space for Paco to recover from his traumatic ordeal.
New beginnings
The poor boy is very disoriented and upset at the moment, but he's also shown a very sweet side to his personality.
Once he's ready, shelter staff will get to work finding him the perfect home, where he will be properly loved and cared for by a family of his own.
In the meantime, they took to Facebook to report the shocking behaviour of Paco's owners, imploring anyone thinking of abandoning their pet to act responsibly, securing a rescue space the right way.
