Durian Intawiset, from the province of Phetchabun, found a newborn kitten with a rare deformity – it has two faces.
The tiny animal, still attached to its placenta, features two heads, four eyes, and two noses but shares a single body.
Unusual appearance
Durian shared her surprise on social media, describing the kitten as a "sensation" in her hands.
Despite its unusual appearance, the kitten appears to be in good health, defying the odds as many animals born with this condition, known as craniofacial duplication or diprosopus, don't survive long.
Janus cat
With the mother cat missing, Durian has taken it upon herself to care for the kitten, feeding it goat's milk and giving it a chance at life. So far, the kitten has survived for three days, far longer than most "Janus cats," named after the two-faced Roman god.
The rare kitten has drawn visitors from all over the village, with some locals believing the animal brings good luck.
Durian feels blessed, noting that her family has only experienced good fortune since the discovery.
