A couple has been left speechless, after their senior cat went missing from a locked hotel room. Thankfully they found her, in the most unexpected of places.

Cats are notoriously good at getting inside, underneath or on top of everything they shouldn't. And while it can be part of their charm, there are moments when their feline antics cause quite the headache.

For Haley and her partner, a disappearing cat was the last thing on their mind as they packed their belongings and embarked on a cross-country move from California to Wisconsin.

A vanishing cat

But their 13-year-old cat Lemons had other ideas, when she seemingly disappeared into thin air.

When the couple woke up to find her missing, they had no idea what could possibly have happened. The hotel room was locked, and their other cat was still there!

Owner Haley started to wonder whether she may have accidentally left the door open while she was sleepwalking, she told Newsweek in an interview. But as nobody at the front desk had heard or seen a cat, this seemed an impossible scenario.

The most unlikely of places

After 8-10 hours of searching, Haley's partner felt Lemon's arm wedged under the bathroom sink.

Somehow, she had managed to get herself stuck in an invisible wall.

Armed with a drill, he carefully removed the drawer, which gave the black and white cat the space she needed to jump free.

Seemingly unfazed and confused by all the fuss, Lemons was unharmed.

Amused viewers shared similar experiences of their own cats, who all managed to get stuck in strange places.

"Mine once crawled inside the mattress and it was a nightmare getting her out", wrote one viewer.

"Mine went into the bed. She found a hole under the box springs", shared another. "She was so indignant when I found her too".
