When Suzette received an urgent request to help a little stray dog, she knew she had to help. But she never expected the adorable secret that awaited her.

Founder of Logan's Legacy 29, Suzette Hall never turns her back on stray dogs in the Los Angeles area. So when she received a call about a little white dog who had been abandoned in a yard, she rushed to see what she could do.

It wasn't until she arrived on the scene that she discovered there was more to the story. The stray had been hiding a very precious secret.

The tiny protector

Carol, as she was later named, was found huddling around a litter of tiny puppies who had been born that morning.

The poor girl was absolutely terrified, Suzette remembers. "When we first got there mama was safe with them, but she escaped and went running", she shared to her Facebook page. "She was so protective of her puppies, she wouldn't let anyone get her".

Thankfully, experience was on Suzette's side, and she knew exactly what to do.

The team managed to catch Carol quickly, using a trap cage and some very tasty treats. And as soon as the devoted mother was reunited with her babies, she seemed to realise she was finally safe.

A happy ending for the little family

Carol and her babies were moved into a foster home, to be cared for until the time comes to find their forever families.

The puppies - named after The Brady Bunch characters Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marcia, Jan and Cindy - are all doing well. And their brave mum Carol is the sweetest girl, clearly so happy to be surrounded by the love and comfort she deserves.
