A mural has been unveiled to honour Grace, the beloved cat who was a familiar sight at a Plymouth Morrisons store.

Affectionately known as "the Morrisons cat," Grace was tragically hit by a car in December 2023.

Commemorative mural

Plymouth's Artists Together commissioned the mural, which was painted on the wall of a house across from the Morrisons on Outland Road.

Mike Vosper from the group described it as a "fitting tribute" to Grace and thanked local councillors Jeremy and Sarah for their funding, artist Jordan (SpraySaint) for his work, and landlord Steve for allowing the mural on his property.

Grace's owner, 10-year-old Florence, expressed her appreciation for the mural. "It's really nice because it shows that they care about her and that she's still around Morrisons," she said.

Florence said Grace had become quite famous in the local area and that a collection held during the mural's creation raised £50 for Cats Protection.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: "Grace was a well-loved extra member of our team, who always showed purr-fect customer service and made our customers and colleagues smile every day."

RIP Grace.
