We all know our pooches have got big hearts, but a clip showing a pitbull crying at one one of the saddest scenes in Disney movie history proves it to the rest of the world!

The original Lion King is a Disney classic. And while it isn't exactly a Christmas film, many families get together in the lead-up to the big day to relive Simba's journey from orphan cub to Lion King.

An iconic movie moment

We've all got our favourite part, and of course, most of us shed a tear at the heartbreaking scene when Simba's dad dies.

But someone else who was crying last Christmas proves that our pooches are full of more love than we ever could have imagined.

Luna the Pitbull doesn't look like a softie. But this kind and gentle soul has proved (once again) that you should never judge a dog by its breed. The loving pooch cries her heart out every time she watches The Lion King, and thankfully for us, her owner caught the adorable moment on camera.

Josh Myers, from Tennessee, USA, is Luna's dog dad. He told the Metro newspaper:

"So Hannah and I were watching the Lion King while Luna played wildly with her toys. But right as Mufasa falls to his death, she stops and turns to the TV to watch. To see her crying at the TV was the sweetest thing I think I've ever seen. She even lays down right after Simba lays with his dad. We don't deserve dogs. 4 months old and she's already showing empathy."

A cry heard all around the world

The short clip has over two million viewers on YouTube, with thousands of people commenting on Luna's moving reaction.

One person wrote: "You know they nailed the scene when even animals cry to it."

Another viewer posted something that we dog lovers have suspected for a long time: "The way I see it...there's more humanity in dogs nowadays than humans."
