Following Starmer's successful bid for Prime Minister, JoJo has become the latest feline to roam the historic halls, sparking curiosity and excitement among staff and the public alike.
A new feline in Downing Street
The black-and-white cat, known for his playful and affectionate nature, is set to share his new home with Larry, the longstanding Chief Mouser.
Larry, the resident cat at Number 10 since 2011, has seen many political figures come and go. Renowned for his mousing skills and charming presence, Larry is a seasoned inhabitant of Downing Street. Larry is not known for sharing his territory. During his residency at Number 10, he's gotten into several fights with other cats - and even a fox!
The introduction of JoJo will prove to be interesting, as the two cats will need to navigate their cohabitation. Hopefully, Larry will be more understanding now that he's a little older and wiser.
Living with Larry: establishing feline diplomacy
Initial reports suggest that Larry and JoJo are gradually warming up to each other. The staff at Number 10 have ensured a smooth transition by providing ample space and separate territories for each cat, allowing them to adjust at their own pace. Everyone is keen to see how this feline duo will develop their relationship, with hopes for a harmonious coexistence.
Oh yeah, and we hope the new government will work out too.
