When the fire department received an urgent call, they knew they had to act quickly.
A pair of kind samaritans had made an unusual discovery, and they desperately needed help.
Mysterious sounds
The women had been chatting on their evening walk, when they heard the sound of an animal in need.
They suspected it was a distressed cat, but they couldn't work out where the noise was coming from.
Then, they spotted a manhole, leading to the drains below. The poor cat was stuck, and there was no way they could get him out alone.
An urgent rescue
Having located the animal, they called the emergency helpline of the fire brigade. The team responded immediately, sending 5 people with demolition equipment to help free the frantic feline.
Thankfully, their experience and expertise meant they knew exactly what to do. Creating enough space to move the cat without harming him, they pulled him up to safety.
Once out of the manhole, he was wrapped in a blanket and carefully dried off.
Shaken but unharmed, this lucky little cat's story had a very happy ending.
