When animal control officers Jesse Ostrowski and Karen Fisch arrived at the scene, they were greeted by the sound of the kitten’s desperate cries.
Challenging rescue mission
Despite their best efforts, they struggled for hours to rescue the kitten. They initially placed a trap in the drain, hoping to catch her overnight, but without success. The following morning, Jesse found the kitten sitting on the trap, still stuck.
The team then used nets to try to catch the kitten, finally succeeding after two more hours. Once the cold and shaking kitten was safely rescued, Jesse and Karen brought her to the shelter.
Without Jesse and Karen’s help, it’s unlikely that the kitten could have escaped on her own.
Happy ending for Stormy
Named Stormy, the kitten is now warm and recovering at the shelter. Despite her ordeal, she has shown a remarkably affectionate personality.
Like most kittens, Stormy loves to eat and enjoys having her ears and forehead rubbed. The shelter says she’s a very sweet little kitten.
Once she’s old enough and has received all the necessary care she needs for eye infections, the shelter will put the adorable kitten up for adoption.
