Lisa, an animal welfare volunteer from Mississippi, didn’t even bother changing her pyjamas as she knew time was running out for the stricken pup.
Dumped like rubbish
After receiving photos of the freezing dog curled up on an old, worn sofa near a rubbish bin, Lisa rushed to the scene.
Once she’d arrived, Lisa found the dog frozen and shivering. Determined to help, she coaxed the grateful pup into her care, providing warmth and comfort in her heated van. The rescued dog, named Cammi, showed immediate appreciation, cuddling up to her rescuers.
A second chance for Cammi
A video shared online shows the heartwarming moment Cammi was rescued. Numerous viewers were so moved by the footage they left comments praising the hard work of Lisa and rescue workers like her. Many others condemned the callous actions of irresponsible dog owners like Cammi’s.
Cammi, finally safe and warm and in good hands, will soon be up for adoption thanks to the efforts of Lisa and the NYC Second Chance Rescue Association. She didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond to save Cammi, even if she was in the dead of night and still wore her pyjamas!
