When rescue organisation Instituto Caramelo were called in to rescue a Bully dog found wandering the streets, they had no idea what awaited them.
On arrival, they found a dog in such poor condition, he could barely see.
A remarkable rescue
Yoda, as he was later named, was suffering from sarcoptic mange.
The condition, caused by mites, is extremely contagious and uncomfortable, often resulting in frantic scratching and hair loss.
The gentle giant had clearly been in pain for quite some time, yet he remained trusting and loving towards people.
After many weeks of veterinary treatment, Yoda was ready for a new home. But would he find the right family?
Second chances
Thankfully, a kind supporter of the rescue had been following his story for some time, and he was sure that Yoda would make the perfect addition to the family.
Mauro already shared his life with another American Bully, and he was prepared for the ongoing skin care Yoda needed.
Having completed the adoption process, he brought Yoda home, where he immediately made friends with his new four-legged sister.
Despite his ordeal, the Bully's beautiful personality never changed. He now spends his days surrounded by lots of love and attention, and he has clearly never been happier!
