A university student, Peter, recently rented a new room, only to discover he wasn't the sole occupant.

Upon stepping into his freshly rented space, a pair of unblinking eyes greeted him from the corner.

Peter had just moved in and briefly left the room to grab a snack. Expecting to find everything as he left it, he returned just five minutes later to an unusual surprise.

Unexpected roommate

While his belongings remained untouched, a cat had taken up residence in his wastebasket, staring at him with an almost accusatory expression as if to say, "What are you doing here?"

The mystery was soon solved. After a quick investigation, Peter learned the cat, named Zuko, belonged to the flat's landlord. Despite the room's closed door, Zuko had slipped in through an open window.

Cat nap sanctuary

Before Peter moved in, Zuko had apparently made the room his personal sanctuary, enjoying undisturbed naps. The cat seemed visibly perturbed by Peter's unexpected arrival and the disruption to his routine.

Peter, a cat lover himself, has since embraced the quirky situation, deciding to share the room with Zuko. However, he’s always cautious about accidentally trapping the feline inside when he leaves for work.

The only drawback? Zuko, it seems, won't be contributing to the rent anytime soon.
