A couple experienced a rollercoaster of emotions during what they believed to be their cat's "funeral."

The feline, appropriately named Kitty, had mysteriously gone missing, prompting an extensive search of the family home, including cabinets, drawers, and even their garage.

Missing Kitty

The couple's relentless efforts to locate Kitty extended into the late night hours, resulting in the pair only getting three hours of sleep. But the beloved pet remained elusive. Eventually, they reluctantly assumed that Kitty might have slipped out when a door was left open.

When their children asked where Kitty was, the couple shared the sad news that the cat was no longer with them. But rather than tell them the truth, they told them the cat had gone to the vet and wouldn't be coming home.

The children were understandably upset at the loss of their pet, so the family all gathered to reminisce about their cherished memories of the 13-year-old cat.

Miraculous return

However, what the couple expected to be a solemn occasion turned into something surprising, awkward and even hilarious. You see, during the burial ceremony, an unexpected twist left everyone in disbelief. The family heard a familiar sound from the garage: Kitty's meowing!

To their astonishment, the supposedly deceased cat had reappeared, alive and well. One of their children joyfully exclaimed, "It's a miracle!" Overwhelmed by the miraculous events, the parents documented Kitty's miraculous return on video. Here's the couple talking about Kitty's surprise reappearance:

And what is their piece of advice for other parents? Don't have a pet funeral unless you are certain the animal has died!
