"Why would a 5kg dog be left with no shelter, tied to an agricultural machine? To guard the family inheritence! Now he's so afraid he urinates every time somebody tries to touch him", explain the staff of Ekostraz rescue service.
All alone
When this poor pup lost his owner, he was left in the garden all alone. Family members came to feed him, but nobody bothered to even build him a shelter, leaving him exposed to the elements all year round.
When rescue workers found him, the family claimed he had been kept there to guard the property. But at 5kg, chained to a machine with rotten food and faeces in his water, it was very clear he needed urgent help.
A new beginning
When they learnt of his case, Ekostraz rescue didn't hesitate to take him in. Now out of physical danger, the little dog needed to learn that humans could also be kind. He arrived a tiny furry ball of fear, they explain in their post on facebook, having been exposed to the cold, sun, and attacks from other dogs at all hours of the day.
A report was filed documenting the abuse and a programme of rehabilitation was put in place, to help him build his trust in people, and prepare him for a loving home.
