It could rival any cat’s wildest adventures: Sox, a ginger tabby from Herne Bay, Kent, embarked on a 140-mile round trip by jumping into two strangers’ cars.

Sox’s escapades are no stranger to his owner, Jessica Roe, who frequently finds herself having to chase around after him.

This time, however, Sox’s journey took an unexpected turn.

Jacqui O’Connor, on her way back from Whitstable to London, got a huge surprise when Sox popped up between the car seats during the journey. She later discovered Sox’s true origin, almost 70 miles away.

But Jessica herself has had to embark on her own adventures just to retrieve Sox from a variety of peculiar places. She has collected him from schools, offices, a swimming pool, an Amazon delivery truck, a nightclub, and even a kebab shop.

Happy reunion

To document Sox’s escapades, Jessica created a dedicated Facebook page, where he has become a local sensation with eight appearances in just two weeks.

The heartwarming conclusion to Sox’s latest escapade occurred when a compassionate Facebook follower, en route from Stonehenge, offered to collect him.

Sox was later joyfully reunited with Jessica and her children, ending his extraordinary 140-mile odyssey. While Sox may be grounded for now, we are sure that he’ll be back out on his adventures in no time.
