Sandy Ali’s friends were visiting when they told her that her dogs were playing together in the garden.
But Sandy was left confused because she only owned one dog. When she went to look outside, she was horrified by what she saw. Her beloved pup Rocco was chasing a mountain lion in the garden.

Sandy, however, couldn’t believe her eyes as she watched in horror, seeing how close such an animal was to her home. Rocco didn’t seem frightened by the mountain lion, chasing it around the garden before it swiftly climbed a tree.
Brave Rocco
Worried for the safety of her neighbours, Sandy called emergency services, who quickly collaborated with other agencies to try to contain the situation. But despite attempts to tranquilise the elusive lion, it evaded capture. Police in the area have urged the community to remain vigilant and keep their pets indoors while the search for the lion continues.
Sandy has credited Rocco with bravely defending their home by confronting the wild cat, and she’ll always be grateful for that.
