What is the law on dogs in public establishments?
In the UK, no law says that dogs aren't permitted in bars or restaurants, but they must be controlled at all times. Food hygiene regulations state that dogs aren't allowed in areas where food is prepared, handled or stored.
Owners of establishments can choose to prevent dogs from entering if they believe it to be necessary, and they may ask that your pup be kept on lead.
