Dog back from groomers starts acting strange: Someone made a terrible mistake

A woman who picked her dog up from the groomer noticed that it was acting a bit strange. A few hours later, she realised why...

Tykesha, from Chesapeake, Virginia, UK, decided that her pup, a 10-month-old Maltese called Lucky, deserved some pooch pampering. So she booked Lucky in for a trim at her local dog groomer.

Plus, a groom was long overdue. Lucky, like most dogs, needs a good wash and groom every four months. But things started to turn odd after Tykesha picked up her fur baby.

That's not Lucky

Tykesha noticed that something was up with Lucky on the way home. He wasn't his usual loving and affectionate self. Instead, he seemed a bit unsure of Tykesha and kept giving her a suspicious look.

Back home, Lucky's mood didn't improve. And weirdly, he wasn't responding to his name. Now Tykesha was starting to get really freaked out. Then she noticed something that left her gobsmacked.

Lucky's fur pattern was different, and his paw pads were an entirely new colour. That's when it clicked. This wasn't Lucky; the groomer had accidentally given her the wrong dog.

A like-for-like swap

She promptly returned the furry imposter to the groomers and swapped him for the real Lucky.

But how did this happen? Surely anyone could recognise their own dog? Tykesha explains:

"I went to pick up my puppy, I went in, and the lady at the desk said, 'Oh, you're here for Bentley?'. I said, 'No, I'm here for Lucky'."

"As she's walking away to fetch the dog, I was dealing with the receipt. I look up, and there's a dog in my face. I didn't get a chance to get a good look at him. All I saw was white."

And to be fair to Tykesha, the two pups looked almost identical. They could be a pair of fur twins! Lucky is the cute guy on the right.
