The warm, sunny spring days are back, and with them, insects are back too! You’ll now see busy bees pollinating flowers everywhere, and that’s a good thing! Bees hugely contribute to our food sources, so let them buzz away! Plus, bees are peaceful little creatures that would only sting you if they feel threatened - but accidents do happen…
Curiosity stung the dog
As you may well know, dogs are curious animals, full of life and energy. An insect flying around and making an interesting buzzing noise is a very attractive target for a good game of chase! So its no surprise our pups often get into trouble when they try to play with their bee friends!
A big pouncing dog is definitely not a suitable play-mate for a busy bee, but rather a very large threat! In these cases, bees have no other choice than to use their stinger to defend themselves. That’s certainly what happened to the 10 poor doggos below!
Always provide treatment and seek vet care
Please remember that bee or wasp stings can be extremely dangerous, and if your dog has been stung, you should consult a vet immediately.
You can read our article on how to provide emergency treatment to a dog that has been stung in our health advice article.
In the meantime, while an animal in pain is never funny…you’ve got to admit…these doggies do have funny faces!
Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone if you let out a giggle or two!
