Meet Cliff, “Cliff is a big, gentle and sensible boy. Despite being so scared when he first came, he has never showed any aggression and is such a loving/lovable dog now he knows he’s safe and can trust me. He’s come along leaps and bounds in the short time he’s been with us. He’s never been possessive over food or toys and will be submissive if he upsets one of my dogs by treading on them (he’s very clumsy). He acts like a big puppy when he’s excited and he loves a good cuddle and to be spoken to gently. He’ll make such a good forever pooch and we’ll be so sorry to see him go” 💞

Cliff met children while in Romania however has not been around them since being in the UK, due to his very friendly nature it is felt he could share his home with Dog Savvy children aged 8+ with slow and sensible introductions 👶

Cliff lives with 2 small sized dogs in his current home and gets along very well with them. Cliff would benefit from another dog/s in the home to play with and learn from after slow and sensible introductions 🐾

Cliff accepts a collar and his family are currently working on getting him confident on the lead to be able to walk him. He would therefore need someone willing to continue building his confidence and a secure garden for him to play in 🐕‍🦺

Cliff met cats in Romania and was good with them. He could therefore share his home with a confident, dog savvy cat in his new home with slow and sensible introductions 🐈

Cliff is toilet trained but is not crate trained. He has never been destructive and can be left alone within the home for up to 3 hours with the other dogs for company with no issues. He sleeps well overnight. Cliff has not yet traveled in the car since traveling from Romania. Cliff doesn't display any guarding behaviours around his food.

Cliff is a nervous boy and recently met one of our volunteers who said:

“He barked and backed away from me when I first arrived in the home but within 5 minutes he stopped barking and just watched me. He then took himself to his safe space (the next room) and settled on the sofa and fell asleep. He could still hear me talking but wasn't bothered which was a big step for him.

The way he seems with the resident dogs I think another confident dog in the home will help. He is very independent however, once the other dogs were with me he just moved off to where he felt comfortable. In the garden he showed no prey drive to any birds on the lawn. A quiet home to begin with - not too many visitors although I feel with some work this will absolutely be possible” 💞
