Luca & Nacho: male dog to adopt

Meet Luca and Nacho, two energetic and lovable Boxer-Crosses looking for their forever home! These nearly 3-year-old boys are currently in the Liverpool area but can be adopted anywhere in England or Wales. 

Luca (tan, white, and black) and his brother Nacho (grey, tan, and white) are originally from Spain. Along with their two sisters, they were rescued by us at just 1 month old from a pound in Northern Spain. As soon as we heard about them, we brought them into foster care, where they were raised in a safe and loving home environment. At 4 months old, the brothers were adopted together and made the long trip from Spain to a family in the UK. This was supposed to be their forever home, and everything seemed perfect. They grew up healthy and happy. Sadly, due to changes in life circumstances, and through no fault of their own, these sweet boys are once again searching for a loving home where they can truly settle for good. 

Both Luca and Nacho have always lived in home environments, making them well-behaved, housetrained companions who know how to be part of a family. They love their daily walks and outdoor adventures, thriving in active homes where they can play and explore. They’ve grown up with two other dogs (male and female) and are generally well socialized with other dogs and people. While they haven’t lived with children before, their friendly natures suggest they’d do well with children over 8, especially those familiar with dog care and handling. However, they have NOT been CAT TESTED. 

Luca is the more confident and lively of the two. He is a quick learner with a playful spirit and knows basic commands like “sit,” “lie down,” “paw,” “no,” and “good boy.” Although his recall could use some work, he’s eager to learn and improve with the right guidance. He’s great with other dogs but can be a little barky around unfamiliar ones—especially bigger males—though he quickly settles down once he gets to know them. When he's not playing or exploring, he loves a good nap! 

Nacho, the more reserved and gentle brother, is a sweet boy with a huge heart. He loves to greet people and other dogs with a lick and is absolutely ball-obsessed—if you’ve got a ball, he’s not going anywhere! Like his brother, Nacho knows basic commands, though he’s still working on mastering “lie down” and “paw.” With his affectionate and easygoing personality, Nacho would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a quieter, yet still fun-loving dog. 

They love their walks and being active, but when at home, these boys transform from energetic explorers into cuddly couch potatoes. They are affectionate, love the company of people, enjoy sunbathing, lounging in the garden, and snuggling up on the sofa for some well-deserved relaxation. They also enjoy playing in the garden, so we believe they’d do best with some outdoor space in their new home or at least have the opportunity to run free and play during their daily walks in an enclosed area. Both travel well in the car and are used to being left alone for short periods without any fuss.   

Luca and Nacho would thrive in a middle-aged, dog-experienced, outdoor-loving family. Luca might even enjoy trying his paws at agility training, while Nacho may need a little encouragement due to his more laid-back nature. Both offer the perfect balance of adventure and affection. 

While the boys would love to stay together, it’s not a requirement—provided they have a friendly resident dog in their new home. Luca, the charmer, would prefer female canine companions, while Nacho is happy with either gender. 

With their loving personalities, playful energy, and sweet nature, Luca and Nacho are sure to fill your life with joy and affection.
