People often say ‘you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover’. Well, the same applies to dog breeds, and this video is a perfect example of it!

The Dogo Argentino is one of the four banned breeds in the UK. As such, you would expect it to be a ‘dangerous’ breed, one that certainly couldn’t be trusted with children.

Are there really dangerous breeds?

Yet, we always say there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. If you train and socialise a dog properly, there’s no reason why they should be aggressive.

And as a recent study showed, breed actually has little to do with behaviour. Sex and age seem to play a bigger role in whether a dog develops aggression or not.

Dogo Argentino loves his human baby

This video seems to back up these points. In the video, a Dogo Argentino, a so-called ‘dangerous dog’, is lying on the floor with a baby. The baby seems fascinated by the dog, trying to pet him and get closer.

Instead of acting out aggressively to get the baby to stop playing with him, the dog lifts his leg and wraps it around the baby lovingly. His tail then wags gently and he gives the baby the sweetest of kisses.

A very ‘dangerous’ dog indeed…

We urge Wamiz readers to always be cautious when letting a pet play with a child. No matter how sweet pets can be, they may sometimes feel uncomfortable with a child's rough play and children can’t always pick up on that. Better safe than sorry, always supervise interactions between a child and an animal!
