Owners ask vet to put their dog to sleep - today he’s thriving in a new home

Not all dogs are as loved, cherished, and cared for as ours. Buddy the terrier, for example, had a tough few years before he met his forever family.

Buddy, like many terriers, has lots of energy. Because of this, he wants to play and needs to be kept busy all times!

Unfortunately, his bubbly personality didn’t mesh well with his previous family. In fact, there was a clear breakdown in communication between Buddy and his owners, and unfortunately, this lead to him almost losing his life.

Owners give up on their senior dog

At wit’s end with their dog, Buddy’s family decided to take him to the vet and ask him to put Buddy down. Thankfully for the little dog, the vet refused.

Still, he ended up homeless and was brought to the RSPCA. And he waited. And waited. And waited.

A new start

Poor Buddy waited for over 500 days! So, a couple of weeks ago, the RSPCA sent out an urgent appeal to get the poor senior adopted. And their efforts payed off!

Buddy is now enjoying a new lease of life with a loving forever family. They take care of all his needs, including throwing a ball non-stop and letting him run in vast fields. The best thing about these owners? They understand Buddy - and they’ll never abandon him like his previous family did.
