An affectionate little pup
Instead of getting frightened and running off as the two cyclists approached, the little dog wagged his tail and rolled onto his back, showing his belly. This touched Jotto deeply. The two men quickly realised the gravity of the situation: the puppy was hungry, thirsty, and exposed to all kinds of dangers.
Jotto offered the puppy some water, and the little dog drank straight out of his hand! Jotto worried that a vehicle might hit him if they left him there, so the cyclists had to improvise.
Searching for help
Their bike ride took a completely different turn: Jotto scooped up the puppy in his arms and cycled towards the nearest town, roughly three miles away. He took a few photos with the dog along the way. In the pictures, the puppy is snuggled against him, gazing at him as if to thank him for saving his life.
Once in town, Jotto looked for someone who could take care of the puppy. He found a local who agreed to look after the little dog. Jotto promised to return to check on him. We are so relieved this little pup crossed paths with the two cyclists!
