One by one, the young pup approached a sheep who ignored her completely, then a fleeting cat, and some curious goats who were out of reach behind their fence. Even the pig and the chickens preferred to keep their distance. Discouraged by these constant rejections, Marlie ended up lying sadly in the grass, watching a pony graze in the distance.

Touched by his young companion's obvious disappointment, her owner decided to step in and give her a helping hand. He set up a meeting with Mollie, an exceptionally gentle ewe on the farm.
