Thrown from a window, 4-month-old puppy survives thanks to amazing support

By Ludivine Mazzotti

Brave puppy Luna Mae was only four months old when she lived through a real nightmare.

Passers-by in an Ohio neighbourhood spotted a badly injured puppy at the foot of a block of flats.

The little dog had several facial injuries and was suffering from severe fractures in both of her legs.

A critical situation

Passers-by contacted rescuers from the Berea Animal Rescue Fund to report the emergency. Fortunately, the rescue team arrived as quickly as possible and rushed her to a veterinary clinic.

Medical examinations revealed that Luna Mae had likely been thrown or had fallen from a third-floor window. Sadly, the information on her microchip did not lead rescuers to her owners.

An amazing wave of support

Without the quick action of the passers-by and the Berea Animal Rescue Fund team, Luna Mae would probably not have survived. The shelter staff launched a fundraising campaign to cover her medical costs. In less than 24 hours, the community rallied together to raise over $2,000 (around £1,600)!

Vets are currently carrying out further tests on Luna Mae to determine the best course of treatment. Since her bones are still growing, they have not yet decided if she will need an amputation. We wish this brave little dog a gentle recovery and all the very best for her future.
