Pezkoi's entire family was devastated.
They searched absolutely everywhere for the poor dog, putting up posters and flyers all over the city.
Vanished without a trace
Sadly, there were no sightings of Pezkoi. For two long years, the family was heartbroken; it was like losing a relative. But just when they thought they would never see their beloved dog again, in May 2026, they received a call from Animal Control in Kankakee County, Illinois.
Pezkoi had been found! No one knows what happened to him during his time away. When he saw his family, Pezkoi was overjoyed, and his owners could hardly believe they were holding their beloved dog in their arms again after two long years. It was a very emotional reunion.
Urgent surgery needed
However, Pezkoi's family soon realised that their dog was not in good health. His teeth were in a terrible state, and he needed surgery. According to the vet who examined him, the damage could have been caused by Pezkoi chewing on something to escape from confinement, or from being repeatedly struck in the face.
To afford the surgery, the family has set up an online fundraiser to raise $1800. So far, they have raised $1200, and everyone is hoping they can reach their goal to relieve Pezkoi's pain as soon as possible.
