On 10th March, a person drove their pick-up truck into the shelter's car park.
The vehicle can be seen entering the car park and reversing into a space.
Taking his time
A man gets out of the truck to open the back. He then lets two adult dogs and five puppies out into the car park. The dogs stay close to him as each one gets out of the vehicle. Meanwhile, a woman can be seen leaving the shelter with a dog on a lead. She walks to her own car to get something, completely unaware of the scene unfolding just a few feet away.
Once all seven dogs are out of his vehicle, the man gets back inside and starts the engine. He then speeds out of the car park. It's at this moment that the woman sees him and realises what is happening.
In good health
She calls for the rescue team inside the shelter, but it's too late: the car is already getting away. Heartbreakingly, the dogs all start running after their owner’s vehicle, trying in vain to follow him. The entire scene, captured by the shelter's surveillance camera, is devastating to watch.
Fortunately, all the dogs were taken in by the rescuers. They found them to be in good health, which suggests they had been cared for in their previous home. We hope that the dogs will soon find a stable, loving, and secure forever home.
