A group of friends, who are all vets, were paddleboarding in Argentina, off the coast of Puerto Madryn.
It was early in the morning, and the day was shaping up to be a beautiful one.
A struggle in the water
The group of friends were quite a way from the shore when they suddenly spotted something strange in the water. At first, they couldn't make out what the shape was. But as they got closer, they realised: it was a dog, struggling to stay afloat!
The vets pulled him out of the water and onto one of their paddleboards. The poor dog didn't know it, but he had luckily run into the best possible people to save him. The pooch was so exhausted he could barely move. Once the friends got back to the shore, they sadly couldn't find anyone who knew the dog.
A family reunion
One of the vets decided to take him home to look after him. They started posting photos of the dog on local Facebook groups, and it wasn't long before they managed to find his family.
The dog's name was Rocko, and his family had been searching for him for four days. No one knows how he ended up in the water, so far from the coast. Rocko's family were so relieved to have him back, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house during their reunion (ours included!).
